George Crace – TDC President, Chairman of the Board

With a heart to see kids succeed in life, George Crace brings both extensive experience and life-long passion to his work at The Total Development Center.

George earned his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in 1972 and a Masters degree in Education from Stanford University in 1973. He began his career as an educator in the public school system in California and also attended Santa Clara University for additional course work in counseling. In 1978, George moved back to Oregon, where he had been raised. During his many years of teaching psychology, coaching, and counseling, George worked directly with thousands of students. He also served his teaching colleagues as their social studies department chairman at West Linn High School prior to helping start Wilsonville High School in the community of Wilsonville, Oregon where he and his wife still live. During this time George led his football teams to the OSAA state play-offs on several occasions. In 2004, after winning 12 games in a row, George coached the Wilsonville Wildcats to their 13th win, an undefeated season, and the Oregon 3A Football Championship.

In the spring of 2005, George was selected as the “FCA Coach of Honor by the Portland area Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was also honored as Oregon State Activities Association’s 3A Coach of the Year for all Oregon sports. George retired from public education in 2006 after spending a total of 31 years at six different high schools educating, teaching, coaching, counseling, and mentoring young adults.

From 2006-2010, George served as the founding principal for Horizon Christian High School in Tualatin, Oregon. He successfully led the school through the NWAC accreditation process, and grew the student body from 0 to 131 during his tenure as high school principal. He remains connected to Horizon as their head football coach and also as a college consultant.

In 2016 he received the 2015 NW Sectional Coach of the Year award for the sport of Football. This section includes the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming! Coach Crace received his Coach of the Year award at the spring 2016 Oregon Athletic Coaches Assoc. as well as being honored for his 40 years coaching football! He was appointed the Executive Director for the Portland Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 2015 and is a highly respected academic consultant and team motivator and presenter for all aspects of leadership training and youth development programs!

George and his wife, Donna, began developing The Total Development Center in 2000 with the vision of helping kids succeed in school and achieve significance in life. In 2010, they opened an office in Wilsonville for both the Total Development Center and CRACE Consulting. George spends half his time donating his experience as a teacher, mentor, and coach at The TDC. The rest of his time is spent working as an educational consultant assisting students with the college search, application, and admittance process along with helping families find financial aid, scholarships, and funding for college.

When not at the TDC, George and Donna spend quality time with their 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren. They love to travel with their businesses, golf together, and enjoy walking and beautiful sunsets wherever they go!

Donna Crace – Executive Director

Donna brings organizational, marketing, and great people skills to her position as Executive Director of TDC. She has extensive experience in Public Relations and Advertising, and also has done professional voice work and singing throughout the greater Portland area. From 1989-2004 Donna was a successful Realtor. She enjoyed helping families buy and sell homes, but especially had a passion to make their transition to new schools and communities a positive experience!

Donna was part of the original administrative team to open Horizon Christian High School in 2005. She coordinated enrolling all the students to the new school in the spring of 2006, before the first building was even complete! Her God-given-talents and passion for families to experience a Christian school experience made her a perfect admissions coordinator for many years! In 2010 she “retired” from Horizon Christian Schools to join her husband, George, full time in developing the programs and materials for The Total Development Center.

Donna loves her time with their seven grandchildren and teaching them how to play the piano, plant flowers in her garden, and help tend to her beautiful roses. She is writing her first book called “Momma Donna’s Guide to Football” and plans to share her 30 years as a Coach’s Wife and football mom to help new football moms, grandmas, and girlfriends truly understand the game of football and life!
